Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) burst teargas shells and resorted to repeated lathi charge to disperse the processionists, who had turned violent, at Maisuma near here.
The trouble started immediately after a procession, led by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yaseen Malik, dispersed peacefully at Maisuma.
When Mr Malik entered his house, a group of people tried to move towards Lal Chowk. However, they were stopped by a large number of police personnel deployed there, leading to a clash.
