Do not use my name to threaten others: Azhagiri

Madurai, Oct 17: Chief Minister Karunanidhi"s son MK Azhagiri has, in a press release, said that some forces are trying to defame him. “I am making this statement because several instances of misuse of my name in buying and selling land, vacating illegal occupants from shops and residents, recovering money forcibly from borrowers in financial transactions, among other things, have come to my notice."

Mr. Azhagiri said that he had always been a trusted worker of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and would continue to strive hard for the party and help the needy. “In my long public life, I have never indulged in harassment of any person or involved in acts that hurt others," he said.

He said some anti-social elements, using his name, threatened people in land deals and financial transactions in cities such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Kodaikanal and Madurai.
