Adampur declared WAC Inter Area Athletics champion

Jalandhar, Oct 17 (UNI) Air Force Station, Adampur was declared overall champion on the final day of the Western Air Comand WAC Inter Area Athletics Championship 2008-09 here today.

LAC Aneesh of Pathankot area got the best athlete award for winning three golds.

On the closing day of the championship, Cpl S Nagar of Hindon got first position in 10 km race, while LAC RC Gupta of Bathinda stood second and LAC VS Rao of Adampur was on third position.

In 800 M final, LAC Aneesh of Pathankot clinched gold, whereas LAC Joseph of Adampur and LAC Dilip of Pathankot stood second and third.

Cpl T Kamrang and Cpl S Nagar of Hindon got gold and silver medal, respectively in 3000 mtrs steeple chase, whereas LAC Anil of Adampur bagged bronze medal.

In 4x400M relay race Adampur bagged the gold medal, while Pathankot and Hindon got silver and bronze medal.

In the overall championship Pathankot area bagged second position and Hindon got third position.
