9 held for selling duplicate branded footwears

Bangalore, Oct 17 (UNI) Police arrested nine people, who were selling duplicate Adidas and Nike footwear, and seized shoes and chappals worth more than Rs seven lakh from them in the city today.

Police said on receiving a complaint from Addidas representative Narendra Singh that duplicate branded footwear were being sold in the market, raids were conducted in gowdowns and duplicate shoes and chappals of both the foreing companies were seized.

Efforts were being made to nab four shop owners, who had absconded during the raids, police added.
