Volvo to make India bus export hub for African, W Asian markets
New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) With a view to expand its footprint in Africa and West Asia, Volvo Buses India Ltd today said it will make India the export hub for selling buses in these emerging markets.
''We are looking at exporting our buses to Africa and West Asia by the 2009-end,'' company Managing Director Akash Passey told reporters here.
The company, which also plans to sell in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, is banking on its manufacturing facilities in China and India to cater to the needs of the South-Asian region.
The company's manufacturing unit near Bangalore has an annual capacity of producing 600 units, which it expects to increase to 1,000 units by 2010.
