Kerala approves applications for 10 SEZs

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 16 (UNI) The Kearla government has approved ten applications for the setting up of new Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the state and they will be sent for clearance by the Centre.

A Committee headed by the Chief Secretary gave its formal approval to the applications after a thorough scrutiny and issued orders for submitting them for Central clearance, an offical press release here today said.

The applicants were: Hindustan Newsprint Ltd, Emmar MGF Land Ltd, T C G Urban Infrastructure Fording Ltd, Parswanath Developers Ltd, M M Tech Towers, Southerland Global Sevices Ltd, Cochin Technopark Ltd, E T L Infrastructure Services Ltd, Thrissur Technopark Pvt Ltd and Uni Tech Real estate Projects Ltd.

The Committee was constituted on the direction of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to scrutinse new applications for SEZs before sending them for the Central approval.
