Kerala taking steps to utilise Silent Valley
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 16: The government will take all possible steps to exploit the potentials of Silent Valley for tourism purpose, Kerala Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
The government would set up a system at Mukkali to control the entry of environmental tourists without making any impact on environment in silent valley, a release said here yesterday.
Besides this, an Information Centre and more vehicles would be introduced for the benefit of tourists, he said.
Mr Balakrishnan said necessary instructions had been issued to introduce computerisation to make the booking system to Silent Valley more effective.
Stating that a project for training guides from scheduled tribes would be introduced, he said the government would ensure the participation of tribal in the tourism projects in the area.
