GM to expand dealership to 150 by yr-end
New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) General Motors India today said it plans to increase its dealership in the country to 150 by this year-end.
''At present, we have 109 dealers across India, which we will like to increase up to 150 by the end of this year,'' Company Vice President (Corporate Affairs) P Balendran told reporters here while launching the new varaiant of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA.
Admitting to the fact that the overall sales in the auto industry have been on a negative side, he expressed hope that the present situation ''will be soon overpowered''.
''As far as GM India is concerned, we had a growth of 25 per cent in July and seven per cent in August. But, September sales declined as the company has been busy shifting to its new Talegaon facility in Maharashtra.'' The Talegaon facility, the second for the company after Halol in Gujarat, is completely dedicated to small car segment.
