CM presides over meeting on welfare schemes

Puducherry, Oct 16 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam today presided over a review meeting on the implementation of the welfare schemes for Adi Dravidar people, utilising the funds under the Special Component Plan (SCP).

According to official sources here, issues such as expediting the SCP scheme to provide Rs 2 lakh to Adi Dravidar people for construction of houses and Rs 20,000 to construct toilet, handing over of the schemes of the local administration to panchayats, for which Rs 30 crore was already allocated for local administration were discussed in the meeting.

Ministers Valsaraj, Kandasamy and Namasivayam, Lok Sabha member Prof Ramadass and Chief Secretary Naini Jayaseelan participated in the meeting.
