New project for land re-survey to be launched in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 15 (UNI) The Kerala government today decided to launch a special project named ''Bhoomi Keralam'' to complete land re-survey in the state under a time-bound programme.
The State Cabinet, which met here, gave its approval for the three-year project, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the media.
He said the project would be implemented in accordance with the existing Central scheme for which Central assistance would also be sought.
Land re-survey could not be completed in the state so far and hence modern facilities like satellite technology would be used for the new project.
About 22 lakh applications for re-survey were pending disposal with the Revenue and Survey Departments in the state.
The Cabinet also gave its nod for a bio-farming policy.
