Navy to conduct firing practice on Oct 17

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) The Navy today advised all mariners, ships, boats and crafts to keep clear of the city's Harbour landmarks as it will conduct live ammunition firing practice on October 17.

The Naval guns located at Middle Ground, Oyster Rock and Colaba point will carry out live ammunition firing practice from 0900 hrs to 1330 hrs, an official release said here.

According to the release, the danger areas for Middle Ground and Oyster Rock firing is seaward area extending from east of Middle Ground to south of Oyster Rock up to the distance of 12 km.

The danger areas for Colaba Point firing is seaward areas extending from south-west of Colaba Point to north-west of Colaba up to a distance of 22 km.

Therefore, all mariners, ships, boats and crafts are advised to keep clear of the danger areas during the timings promulgated for the firing, the release added.
