J K Paper Mills Contract Shramik Sangha to go on strike
Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (UNI) J K Paper Mills Contract Sramika Sangha, affiliated to CITU, today announced to go on indefinite strike from the second week of November if their seven-point charter of demands were not met by then.
The demands included employment card, wage slip, bonus, early leave and leave on national festivals to all employees,recognisition of contract labour union through secret voting, scrapping of all illegal agreement sighed with J K Papermill employees union and reinstatement of all employees suspended for union activities.
Sangha adviser Bishnu Mohanty told newspersons here that the decision to go on strike was taken at the general body meeting of the Sangha held at Rayagada.
He alleged that paper mill management was flouting all labour laws and exploiting the workers with the passive support of the government.
Mr Mohanty said as many 4000 contract workers of the paper mills would go on strike if the papermill management did not solve the problems of the workers through peaceful discussion by then.
