Haripur village of Punjab chosen for Nirmal Gram Puraskar

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 15 (UNI) Village Haripur of Khera block has been chosen from around 445 villages in Fatehgarh Sahib district for the Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) by the central government.

Village Sarpanch Inderjit Singh would be honoured by President Pratibha Patil during a function in Hisar in Haryana on Friday.

Village Sarpanch informed that there was total sanitation in the village which has a population of around 300 people.

Punjab government's Water Supply and Sewerage Board had conducted A survey of the village twice before selecting it for the award.

a He also said the village Panchyat had been chosen unanimously for the last three terms.
