BHEL complies with Rajbhasha policy
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 15: The public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has fully complied with Rajbhasha policy guidelines issued by the Union Department of Official Language, company local unit General Manager (incharge) V Ananthakrishnan has said.
Presiding over the Rajbhasha Day function here yesterday, Mr Ananthakrishnan, who is also Chairman, Official Language Implementation Committee (OLIC), said with various units of BHEL spread over the country, it had become necessary for employees to learn Hindi. Altogether 294 employees had passed Hindi courses and 368 employees benefitted from participating in Hindi workshops, he said adding various Hindi competitions were held in which 214 employees and campus school children participated.
He said the annual souvenir 'BHELKiran' won a prize in the XI All India Journal Competition 2007.
Rajbhasha Officer, BHEL, K A Nadaf, presenting the annual report of the Official Language activities for 2007-08, said BHEL Tiruchirapalli was honoured with the 'Raj Bhasha Rolling Shield' sponsored by Town Language Implementation Committee, Tiruchirapalli, for 2006 and 2007.
