Advanced Solid Waste Treatment Plant for Gurgaon

Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) The advanced Solid Waste Treatment Plant to be set up at village Bandhwadi in Gurgaon district will be completed within a period of nine months.

Giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) had acquired 30.51 acres of land for setting up the Solid Waster Treatment Plant at a cost of Rs 7.03 crore.

He said the plant would be set up as per the design prepared by NBCC which had been appointed as consultant. This type of Plant had already been functional at Rajkot in Gujarat, he said.

The plant would have the capacity of 1000 tonnes, he said adding that Gurgaon and Faridabad districts generated 500 tonnes of waste per day.

A green belt would also be developed around the plant, he said.

The existing dumping sites at Gurgaon were likely to be shifted.

Meanwhile, adequate bacterial spray was being done at the existing dumping sites.
