RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 47.71 per USD

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 47.71 per unit, down by 43 paise, against yesterday's rate of Rs 48.14 per dollar.

The reference rate for Euro also eased by 51 paise at Rs 65.12 per unit from yesterday's rate of Rs 65.63 per unit, a RBI release stated.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted at Rs 83.3088 (82.7358) per Pound and Rs 46.58 (47.96) per 100 units of Yen, it added.
