Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam volunteers protest against article

Coimbatore, Oct 14(UNI) Police arrested volunteers of 'Thanthai Periyar Drivdar Kazhagam' and 18 students of the Law College when they burnt copies of the English daily 'The Hindu', objecting to the publication of an article about to the banned LTTE today.

According to police, the protestors also pelted stones at the office after burning the copies of the newspaper. However, no one was injured in the stone throwing nor any property damaged.

They took exception to the criticism against the LTTE in the article and protested, police added.

Police provided tight security on the office premises.
