Nano has helped Gujarat counter impact of recession: Modi

Gandhinagar, Oct 14 (UNI) Chief minister Narendra Modi today said the Nano Car Project has helped Gujarat to counter the impact of global recession.

Speaking at a function organised by leaders of commerce and industry here to felicitate him, Mr Modi said considering the potential of manufacturing and engineering sectors in the state, it is fair enough to expect that it will be on the frontline of entire surface transport system.

Job opportunities will also be increased, he said.

Modi said there were foreign contenders for Nano project but it has come to Gujarat and saved the prestige of the nation.

About 160 small and big associations of commerce and industry felicitated Mr Modi for bringing the Nano project to the state.
