MCX composite index of metals, energy up

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities was up by 1.93 per cent at 2,448.84 points at Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) here today.

MCX Energy rose by 2.73 per cent at 3,077.57 points followed by Metal, which surged by 1.47 per cent at 2,581.83 points.

Gold December 08 contract was up by 0.21 per cent at Rs 13,095 per 10 grams. Silver May 09 contract rose by 0.35 per cent at Rs 19,430 per kg and Silver June 09 contract by 0.41 per cent at Rs 19,910 per kg.

Aluminum October 08 contract shot up by 1.49 per cent at Rs 108.65 per kg, copper November 08 contract by 3.58 per cent at Rs 263.45 per kg, nickel October 08 contract by 3.71 per cent at Rs 646.50 per kg and Lead October 08 contract by 2.03 per cent at Rs 77.75 per kg.

Crude oil October 08 contract strengthened by 3.47 per cent at Rs 4,058 per barrel. CPO December 08 contract gained by 0.81 per cent at Rs 311.10 per 10 kgs, Kapas April 09 contract by 0.94 per cent at Rs 493.30 per 20 kgs, mentha oil November 08 contract by 2.54 per cent at Rs 566 per kg and jute October 08 contract by 0.22 per cent at Rs 1,621 per quintal, an MCX release said.
