K'taka govt to make local bodies more responsive: Minister
Hubli, Oct 14 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Urban Development and Law Suresh Kumar here today said the Government had planned to develop the cities and towns in the state in an eco friendly manner.
Speaking to newsmen here, after visiting different places of Hubli, he said that these institutions would brought nearer to the people and respond to the problems of the citizens as a whole.
He felt there had been widespread dissatisfaction to the provision of basic civic amenities like drinking water, roads and sanitation in twin city of Hubli and Dharwad.
The Government had already allocated Rs. 100 crore for the comprehensive development of twin-city and out of the total Rs 50 crore have already been released. The development works already commenced in the city vicinity.
Many people presented memoranda to the minister during his visit.
In a meeting held on this occasion Water Resource minister Basavaraj Bommai, Member of Parliament Pralhad Joshi, Commissioner of Twin city Corporation Ajay Nagabhushan and others were present.
