EC urged to remove BJP Govt hoardings in MP

Bhopal, Oct 14(UNI) The Congress today urged the Election Commission of India to remove hoardings put up across Madhya Pradesh claiming the so-called achievements of the BJP government to ensure a level-playing field as the model code of conduct has come into effect with the announcement of schedule for Assembly elections.

''Wasteful expenditure of government fund was made to publicise unrealistic achievement of the BJP government and an inquiry should be held into it'', MPCC President Suresh Pachouri told reporters here today.

He also sought inquiry into allotment of land to many people associated with BJP across the state and illegal sand mining in Hoshangabad and Budhni areas, native place of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Claiming that the BJP government was not sincere in implementing several announcements made by the ministers, Mr Pachouri sought a clarification on the implementation of announcements made by the Chief Minister at eleven 'Panchayats' to enlist the views from different sectors.

Replying to a question, Mr Pachouri said it was upto the central leadership of Congress to decide on his candidature in the Assembly elections.

Welcoming the election programme, Mr Pachouri requested the Election Commission to keep a vigil to ensure peaceful and impartial election in Madhya Pradesh.

''Poll announcement marked the countdown of the BJP government'', he added.
