Dalit Panthers' opposed to Goondas act

Puducherry, Oct 14 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) today opposed the introduction of ''Goondas Act'' in the union territory.

In a statement here its convenor Pavanan charged that the Act would certainly be used against the opposition parties to supress them.

He also urged the Puducherry traders to down shutters on October 17 as in Tamil Nadu to condemn the killing of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Students, film personalities and women's associations should also raise their voice against the killing, he added.
