Bandh observed in Sankh village on tehsil headquarters
Sangli, Oct 14 (UNI) The people of Sankh village observed a bandh today, demanding seperate tehsil headquarters in the village, instead of Umadi.
In a recent proposal, Maharashtra Government decided to bifurcate Jat tehsil in two tehsil headquarters, Jat and another one in Umadi village.
As Umdi is far away from Sankh, the Sankh people have to bear an additional financial burden.
Some prominent people of the village have started hunger strike from yesterday on the same issue, police sources said.
