6 held for attempting robbery, search on for 3 more

Kancheepuram, Oct 14 (UNI) Police yesterday arrested six persons and were looking for three more in connection with a robbery attempt and seized sickles, wooden logs and two autorickshaws in this connection.

Police said the arrests were made when they were making a vehicle count at Santhavelur on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway when two autorickshaws came speeding.

The police stopped the vehicles. A check revealed the weapons and the arrests were made. A search was on for three more persons.
