Nashik-Mumbai commercial air service to resume soon

Nashik, Oct 13 (UNI) The much-awaited resumption of commercial flights from Nashik-to Mumbai would soon be a reality.

The service, to be operated by Kingfisher Airlines, was to start on October 6 but was postponed for technical reasons. Now it would start by the end of this month.

Earlier, the service was provided by Air Deccan, but was stalled following Civil Aviation Ministry's objection regarding the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport at Ojhar. However, the issues have been sorted out now and HAL has also given permission for using the Airport. Required security and technical facilities have also been provided, sources said.

District collector S Chokkalingam, meanwhile, denied receiving any official communication regarding the exact date of commencement of the service.
