CM directs police officials to monitor situation
Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed police officials to monitor the situation constantly and deploy police and Raid Action Forces wherever necessary in the communally-sensitive Bhainsa and others areas where communal clashes erupted on Friday.
The Chief Minister, who is attending the National Integration Council (NIC) meeting at New Delhi, telephoned the top police officials and asked them to keep a close watch on the situation at Bhainsa.
He said he would convene a high-level meeting on his return from New Delhi on the incident, according to an official press release here.
He also said what happened in Vottoli was barbarous, to say the least. It was an inhuman and senseless act of some vested interests and anti-social elements who have some hidden agenda.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members he said, ''I assure that the government will do whatever is needed to help them. I can understand the agony and tension in the village and surrounding areas. I assure the people and each family there that the government has already acted''.
He called upon the political party leaders not to politicise the incident.
He directed the police officials to monitor the situation on a minute to-minute basis and report to him.
