CBI arrives in Aizawl to probe into pastors death
Aizawl, Oct 13 (UNI) A three-member team of the Central Bureau of Investigation arrived here today to re-investigate into the controversial death of Reverend Chanchinmawia, a Presbyterian priest.
He was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his house at Khatla here a year ago.
The three-member CBI team, led by Dy SP Hari Singh, reached here.
''I can't say when they will start their investigation, Aizawl Additional SP R D Chawngthu told UNI here over phone.
Earlier the Cabinet decided to refer the case to the CBI after a widespread doubt on the state police Special Investigation Team's (SIT's) conclusion that the death was a case of suicide.
Opposition parties and pressure groups like the People's Right to Information and Development of Mizoram have been demanding a CBI probe into the death.
