BRO to close Manali-Sarchu road for traffic from Nov 1

Shimla, Oct 13 (UNI) The Manali-Sarchu Road would be closed for vehicular traffic from November 1, due to adverse weather conditions during the winter months, a Border Road Organisation spokesman said here today.

He stressed that if any vehicle got stranded due to bad weather or any unforseen eventuality occurred, the BRO or 'Project Deepak' would not be responisble for any loss to human life as well as to government or private property.

''After October 31, in case of any accident or physical casualty, BRO would not be in a position to carry out snow clearance operation for evacuation'', he added.

So no movement of vehicles would be permitted during winter months due to impending inclement weather conditions and snow fall and closure of Rohtang and Baralachala passes, he explained.

He advised public to avoid taking any chances and not to ply vehicles on the road after October 31.
