Asian Film Fest to open with 'Tuya's Marriage'

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) The seventh edition of the Asian Film Festival will commence here with the screening of the Chinese film ''Tuya's Marriage'' on October 16.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh would be the chief guest for the inaugural function, to be held at Y B Chavan Centre in south Mumbai.

Bollywood actor and producer-director Aamir Khan would be felicitated on the occasion for the selection of his film ''Taare Zameen Par'' for the Oscars, while director Madhur Bhandarkar for winning a National Award for his film ''Traffic Signal''.

The Asian Film Culture Award would be presented this year to veteran Korean Director Park Swang-Su for his outstanding contribution to cinema, while National Film Archive's former director and veteran P K Nair would be honoured with the Satyajit Ray Memorial Award.
