Rs 1.5 lakh ex gratia to families' of weavers

Karim Nagar, Oct 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced an ex gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh for the family members of the handloom workers, who committed suicide owing to poverty recently at Sircilla in the district.

Dr Reddy, who visited the family members at Sircilla, assured that the state government would protect them. It would supply 35 kg rice every month at Rs two per kg to the families of all handloom workers, besides providing houses.

The government would arrange loans to women members of the Self Help Groups at three per cent interest rate and each family would get a loan of Rs 40,000 to 50,000 for starting a small business, he added.
