US Consul General calls on Pondy Lt Governor, CM
Puducherry, Oct 10 (UNI) US Consul General in Chennai Andrew T Simkin called on the Puducherry Lt Governor and the Chief Minister here today.
Talking to newspersons after the meeting, Mr Simkin termed the meeting as a courtesy call.
He said he was impressed with the architectural features and restoration of old buildings.
Chief Minister V Vaithilingam said he brought to the notice of the Consul General the scope available in Puducherry for industrialists from the US, especially in bio-technology and pharmaceautical sectors.
There could be a collaborative venture in these sectors, he added. The Consul General on his part felt that there was great potential for tourism in Puducherry.
The meeting was very encouraging and positive, he added.
