S Kumars buys Italian shirt fabrics maker

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Textiles firm S Kumars Nationwide today said it will acquire an Italian shirt fabrics maker-- Leggiuno SpA-- to strengthen its position in the profitable shirting fabrics segment.

The company will finalise the deal through its wholly-owned Italian unit. However, it did not disclose the terms of the purchase.

''This is a strategic acquisition for S Kumars, as it dovetails with the new state of the art high value fine cotton plant being set up in Gujarat,'' the company said in a statement.

The company will market products in the country under the Leggiuno brand, it said.
