Relief materials worth Rs three lakhs seized

Supaul, Oct 10 (UNI) Relief materials worth Rs three lakhs meant for distribution among flood victims was recovered from Samda village under Ratanpura police station area in the district today.

District Magistrate N Shrawan Kumar told reporters here that acting on a tip-off, raid was conducted at a hide-out at Samda village leading to recovery of relief materials worth Rs three lakhs.

''The owner of the house from where the relief material was recovered, was arrested and sent to jail,'' he said adding the matter was being investigated.

Raids were also being carried out to nab others involved in the syphoning of the relief materials, he added.
