Goa Police arrest three for killing Australian tourist

Panaji, Oct 10 : Goa Police have arrested two waiters and a guard of a pub in the tourist resort of Goa for suspected killing of an Australian tourist.

According to police, the trio assaulted Australian national Kelly John Gibb and beat him during a brawl, which broke out in the 'City Club' pub.

Gibb, who arrived in Goa on September 29, succumbed to injuries while he was being treated in a hospital.

"After preliminary inquiry, names of three persons, two waiters and one security guard were found to be involved in that assault. They have been rounded up and they have been arrested," said Gundu Naik, sub-divisional police officer, Calangute.

Police is conducting further investigations.

This is the second unnatural death of a foreigner in Goa in less than a year. A 15-year-old Briton, Scarlett Keeling was found dead on a beach on February 8.
