Durga temple earns 1.21 crore revenue

Vijayawada, Oct 10 (UNI) The Kanakadurga temple situated atop Indrakeeladri hill here has earned a revenue of Rs 1.21 crore during the ten-day Dasara festivities which ended yesterday.

Addressing a press conference here today, Andhra Pradesh Principal Secretary (Revenue) G Sudhir said the revenue was earned from special poojas, darshan tickets, sale of 10.45 lakh laddus and 2.38 lakh plates of tamarind rice.

As many as 15 lakh pilgrims visited the temple and worshiped Goddess Durga during the ten-day period.

Speaking about the Bhavani devotees who relinquished their 40-day 'deeksha' by offering 'Irumudi' to the presiding deity, he said this year the rush of Bhavanis was more than last year.
