Badrinath to close on Nov 17, Kedarnath Shrine on Oct 30

Dehra Dun, Oct 10 (UNI) The doors of the Badrinath shrine will close on November 17 while the Kedarnath Shrine will close on October 30.

This was decided at a meeting of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee after consulting the religious calendar and senior priests yesterday, Chief Executive officer of the Committee Bhagwath Kishore Krishna told UNI today.

The doors of the Badrinath shrine would close for pilgrims at 1442 hrs while the Kedarnath Shrine will close at 0800 hrs.

The temples would be decorated lavishly to mark the closing rituals, Mr Krishna said.

An estimated 9 lakh pilgrims visited the Badrinath Temple till October 8 while over 4 lakh pilgrims visited the Kedarnath Shrine till October 5, he informed.
