Lanka Tourism minister calls on Modi

Gandhinagar, Oct 9 (UNI) Sri Lanka's Tourism Minister Milinda Moragoda today met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here and discussed bilateral issues concerning culture, economy and tourism.

This is for the first time in recent years that a senior cabinet minister from the Sri Lanka government met the Chief Minister of the state.

In the meeting, Mr Maradoda and Mr Modi agreed that further meetings between their respective officials should be held to pursue a number of areas of mutual interest.

Yesterday, Mr Maragoda offered prayers at famous Somnath temple in Saurashtra.
