Delhi CM announces Rs one lakh ex-gratia to Lakhanpal's family

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced Rs one lakh as ex-gratia to the family of senior journalist Umesh Lakhanpal, who died yesterday following a massive heart attack.

Ms Dikshit attended the funeral of Mr Lakhanpal, who was also the Chairman of the Delhi Press Accreditation Committee, at Shalimar Village cremation ground this morning.

Ms Dikshit, who was accompanied by several Delhi Ministers, MPs JP Aggarwal and Sandeep Dikshit, Chief Whip Rama Kant Goswami and a number of MLAs, also laid a wreath over the body of the deceased scribe.
