Putzmeister to use Goa facility as export hub

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Putzmeister Concrete Machines Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany-based Putzmeister, today said it will use its Goa facility as an export hub for West Asia and South East Asian markets.

''We will use the Goa facility to export our products to the West Asia and South East Asian countries like Vietnam,'' company Director (Service) Guenter Weinmann told reporters.

The company is already exporting its equipment to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka from its parent plant.

It will also invest Rs 125 crore in the second phase for upgarding and enhancing the capacity of its state-of-the-art Goa plant, which will act as a sourcing centre for the company's global manufacturing need.

The second phase, which is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year, will create on-spot job opportunities for about 1,000 people apart from raising the headcount to 240, which is 140 at present.
