IGNOU channels to be available on TBSPL cable network
New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The IGNOU has signed a MoU with the Time Broadband Services Private Limited (TBSPL), under which two IGNOU channels -- Gyan Darshan I and II round-the-clock all through the year will be carried by the TBSPL cable network service.
For this the TBSPL will have the right to downlink the signals of the channels. Consequently, the tie-up has ensued that IGNOU TVs will now onwards bring a basketful of multiple global digital and audio-visual content to its IPTV consumers over broadband.
This will also be available to learners from both Indian and South East Asian partner institutions.
It also converges with Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) mode well enough to let learners interact with their coordinators almost instantly, an IGNOU statement said.
These rights will be effective within territories of India and TBSPL network zones carrying out global TV services.
The dissemination through the TBSPL will be free to IGNOU and its learners within Indian territories, even as the IPTV company will be free to charge target audience subscribers according to the laws of those countries individually. However, IPTV company will not be allowed to insert any advertisement or such information during dissemination of the IGNOU programmes, an University statement said.
