Medical colleges will remain with Govt: BJP to Pondy

Puducherry,Oct 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the administration not to hand over the government medical college to the ESI Corporation. In a statement last night, BJP State President M Visweswaran said the college should continue to remain with the government to enable local students to get 85 per cent of the seats.

The government should take a decision on handing over the college only after eliciting the views of leaders of all political parties and representatives of the government employees associations.

Merely handing over the college to the ESIC would amount to betrayal of the interest of the people of Puducherry,he claimed.
