Two SIMI activists detained for interrogation

Kochi, Oct 7 (UNI) A Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the Kerala Police has detained two suspected SIMI activists in connection with a training camp of the banned outfit held at Wagamon in Kottayam district in December 2007.

Police sources said the SIT, headed by DIG (Headquarters) T Vinod Kumar, had nabbed the two activists from Aluva, near here, last night and had been questioning them at the Police Club here since this morning.

The two, identified as Abdul Hakkim and Shamir, had been arrested earlier in connection with a SIMI meeting at Binanipuram near Aluva in August, 2006.
