Sugar prices decline
Navi Mumbai, Oct 7 (UNI) The downward trend was seen in sugar prices for the second consecutive day today following sluggish demand by stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Prices of small and medium grade sugar fell by Rs two and Rs 15 per quintal respectively, amid sustained heavy selling pressure from bulk conumsers, traders said.
In ex-mill grade too, small and medium grade sugars slipped to Rs five and Rs 20 per quintal respectively, amid poor buying support by stockists, traders added.
Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,761/1,805, medium grade: Rs 1,800/1,900, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,735/1,760 and medium grade: Rs 1,760/1,805.
