Security tightened in Faridabad after terror e-mail

Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Taking the e-mail threat allegedly sent by the Indian Mujahideen to Faridabad Deputy Commissioner seriously, the Haryana Police has made elaborate security arrangments to tackle any untoward situation.

Stating this here today, a police spokesman said the entire Faridabad city had been divided into seven sectors and a Duty Magistrate, a DSP and armed police personnel had been deployed in each of them.

He said bomb defusal squads and dog squads had also been deployed and they were already making rounds of the sensitive and crowded areas in the city.

Police gypsies with commandoes carrying SLR guns were patrolling the city. Police was also videographing the various sensitive places and barricades had been put at the entry points of all the main markets.

Fire brigade tenders, ambulances and cranes were also put in place to be pressed into service if required.

The Haryana Police had also strengthened vigil in other towns and cities in the state, the spokesman said.

The terror e-mail was received by the Faridabad Deputy Commissioner yesterday.
