Elaborate security arrangements made for Dasara

Mangalore, Oct 7 (UNI) In view of recent attacks on places of worship and arrest of suspected terrorists in the District, police have tightened security at several important temples in and around the city during the ongoing 'Mangalore Dasara Festival'.

Metal detectors and Closed Circuit Cameras have been installed in major temples including famous Mangaladevi temple and Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple. Bomb disposal Squad have been kept under high alert.

Security personnel in plain clothes were keeping strict vigil on the new comers and checking the luggage. To infuse confidence among the public to participate in the ongoing Navaratri festival without any fear or apprehension, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) last evening took out a route march in the city along with other senior officials of the District Armed Force (DAR) and police.
