CM's protest only to hide failures: UDF
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7(UNI) The Congress-led Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) today claimed the agitation proposed to be held by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and his Cabinet colleagues before Parliament on October 17 was aimed at hiding the government's ''failures.'' Talking to reporters here, UDF Convener P P Thankachan said UDF leaders and workers would also stage a dharna before the State Secretariat on the same day.
He claimed due to government's failure many schemes sanctioned by the Centre lapsed.
The Chief Minister had decided to hold an agitation on October 17 to protest the alleged neglect of the State by the Union Government.
On the Chief Minister's clarification the new SEZ policy would not be applicable to the Smart City project, he said the statement led to doubts.
