Yechury terms Tata's decision as ''unfortunate''
Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury today termed the Tata Motor's decision to move out from its under-construction plant at Singur in West Bengal as ''unfortunate.'' The auto major was forced to leave the state only because of ''political reasons,'' Mr Yechury, who was here to attend the Party State Committee meeting, told newspersons.
The Company did not have any problem with the West Bengal government, he added.
Asked about the efforts of the Congress-ruled Andhra Pradesh and the BJP-ruled Karnataka, Gujarat and Uttarakhand to woo the Company to relocate the Nano car project, he said ''Tatas are free to go anywhere they wish.'' UNI SM VA DS RR ND1728
