Warm, humid weather persists in Del, fall in mercury in few days

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Warm and humid weather conditions today continued in Delhi for another week even as weathermen forecast a fall in mercury in the city in the next few days.

A bright sunlight in the sky, coupled with a high humidity level of 88 per cent, led to the mercury staying above normal into another week.

The maximum temperature was recorded one degree above normal at 35.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded four degrees above normal at 25.4 degrees Celsius.

Some relief from warm and humid weather conditions, unusual for this time of the year when the city is on the threshold of autumn, could be in the offing with weathermen forecasting a fall in mercury in the city in the coming days.

''The maximum temperature is 5-6 degrees above normal over Rajasthan and 2-4 degrees over Central and Northwest India. The minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-4 degrees over many parts of Northwest and Central India. The current meteorological analysis indicates a fall in maximum and minimum temperatures during the next 3-4 days,''the Met office said.
