Two militants killed in Udhampur encounter
Jammu, Oct 6 (UNI) Security forces gunned down two militants including a foreign mercenary after a day-long gun battle late last night in tehsil Ramnagar of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.
In a joint operation, Army and police eliminated two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit including a Pakistani at village Khail in Chanunta area , official sources added.
''The troops of 11 Sector Rashtriya Rifles joined by 158 Territorial Army and police parties on specific information, launched an operation against the militants, who were holed up in the house of a civilian namely Boob Gujjar,'' a senior police officer told UNI.
The day-long operation however, ended Late last night in which both militants were gunned down by the security forces.
''After being confirmed that no family member of Boob Gujjar was present in the house, where militants took shelter, the security forces indiscriminately retaliated the fire in which both militants were killed while the house was destroyed,'' the police officer added asserting that there were no reports of any casualty and injury to the security personnel.
