Relief materials meant for flood victims found in official home

Supaul, Oct 6 (UNI) Police have recovered relief material worth Rs 1.5 lakh from a hideout at Ullas village under Raghopur police station area in the district.

District Magistrate N Sarwan Kumar told reporters today a raid was conducted at the residence of one Pappu Yadav and 52 bags of rice, 19 bags of bleaching powder, 16 bundles of polythene sheets besides huge quantity of milk powder and kerosene oil-- all meant for distribution among flood victims -- seized.

A case against Pitamber Yadav, in-charge of Raghopur relief camp has been registered, charging him with appropriation of relief materials, he said, adding Mr Yadav had been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
